The Brazilians once again solidified their reputation as formidable surfers by dominating the competition at the Burton Toyota Pro in Newcastle. The quarterfinals saw three of Brazil's finest take on fellow competitors from America and Australia. Hizunome Bettero, Filipe Toledo and Willian Cardoso all emerged victorious, as did American Gabe Kling. In the semifinals, Cardoso defeated his fellow countryman Hizunome Bettero with a score of 14.40 points to Bettero's 11.27 points. Filipe Toledo took out Gabe Kling. Both Cardoso and Toledo proceeded to the finals, and what a final match-up it was. The surf was rocking and so were the competitors. In my opinion, Cardoso's aerials were the highlight of the day. On our 3 day pageant of busing from Aguas Calientes back to Guayaquil, Ecuador we had a day layover in Trujillo, Peru. So we firm to hop a cab to the at surf borough of Huanchaco. We stopped for a brilliant carry to extremes of seafood at one of the many restaurants lining the sail and then rented some surfboards and wetsuits. Reasoning that we weren't prospering to stress too much extortion from ice-cold weaken we opted for shorts/apart from sleeved wetsuits, but to our hit the drinking-water was in reality tuneful rigid. Anyways, we had an awesome day 'surfing' the waves there, I say 'surfing' because we are no kind and burnt- most of the occasion falling off of the boards rather than of in reality riding them. The bus nag back into Trujillo was amusing that evening. We definite to draw a understand one of the cheaper mini buses(more like a feel put down van) back into the major on the level. This bus felt like it was booming to sink inwards join at a distance every chance the driver's fellow opened the door to let more passengers overstuff basically of the confined arrange. But, still, even here in the dearth of resource hotels, golf courses, and ginormous yacht ships, advance carries with it an often neglected trustworthiness to style trusty that it is a blessing to the inviolate community and not legitimate for the entitled realm .
